Zayed Heritage Center

Visit the Sheikh Zayed Heritage Centre in Abu Dhabi's Al Bateen neighborhood for a fascinating glimpse at the life of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founder of the UAE popularly referred to as the Father of the Nation. This museum is a magnificent tribute to the man who founded the country and is located in a traditional Emirati village complete with camels. The museum's walls are covered with a photo gallery of Sheikh Zayed with several foreign monarchs and dignitaries, and it is also jam-packed with personal items like his favorite hunting guns. The late President often drove his beloved cars through the city without a bodyguard, and gifts from all over the world, including taxidermied lions and cheetas, are displayed prominently.
