Built in 1985 at the edge of Jeddah’s Corniche, you will find Al-Rahma Mosque - also known as the floating mosque because of the white stilts that suspend it above the water’s edge. At high tide, the mosque seems to float beautifully over the sea below. The mosque is a combination of modern & old architecture together with Islamic art, and it's built with state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and sound & lighting systems. It's free to enter and open to visitors 24 hours a day, but many worshippers and tourists prefer to visit the mosque at dawn or sunset to enjoy the view of the Red Sea.
