Kids love cutting with scissors but you don’t realise how much goes into it until you have to show and help a kid do it. It needs practice to build up the hand muscles as well as fine motor skills and coordination. Try making some rainbow hair by cooking pasta (only about 150g) then add it to a zip lock bag with a few drops of food dye and oil, then =draw a face and get them to place the hair around. After- give them the scissors to cut it and to strengthen those scissor cutting hand muscles! Pop the pasta in the fridge to use again for some other craft.
