The inaugural Public Art Abu Dhabi Biennial, running until April 30, 2025, marks a significant milestone in the UAE's cultural landscape. Organized by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, this event showcases over 70 site-specific installations by contemporary artists from the UAE and beyond, centered around the theme 'Public Matter.' The biennial explores the concept of public spaces within Abu Dhabi's unique environmental and cultural context, addressing questions of community, diversity, and urban identity. Installations and performances are featured at iconic locations such as the Carpet Souq, Abu Dhabi Corniche, Cultural Foundation, and Al Ain Oasis. As a pillar of the Public Art Abu Dhabi initiative, the biennial alternates with the Manar Abu Dhabi Light Art Exhibition, ensuring year-round artistic engagement in the capital.
