The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in the historic city of Al-Fustat, Old Cairo will officially open to the public on April 4 2021 after receiving 22 ancient Egyptian royal mummies from The Egyptian Museum. NMEC is the first museum in the Arab world focusing on the earliest civilization in history, ancient Egyptian history, and offers the visitors a general overview of all different historical periods that encompass Egypt. The museum organizes and hosts various documentary films, concerts, live theater performances, all showing living aspects of Egyptian civilization today, thus provides a platform to share knowledge and connect with all its visitors, offering deeper insights into the meaning of Egyptian culture through the ages. Contains a main hall, mummies hall, dye house, café, gift shop, and an outdoor area overlooking the beautiful Ain Al Sera lakes.
