Madinet Madi

Medinet Madi is considered the most important archaeological site in Fayoum, located near to Wadi el Rayan and Izbat al-Kashef! The temple was originally built in the 12th dynasty and was dedicated to two deities; the popular crocodile god Sobek and the serpent goddess Renenutet. Visit this unique site and see ruins of the Middle Kingdom and churches dating back to the Roman era in addition to some relieves and hieroglyphic inscriptions on walls and columns.
