Spring break is around the corner, and we all can feel the UAE heat getting hotter, and our kids starting to get a little restless with the “spring fever,” of the last stretch of the school year. Quite a few schools have a spring vacation of more than a week, and that can leave us parents scrambling to find activities to keep the kids busy, especially if we don’t have a lot of time off work. This spring there are actually a lot of great camps for all ages. In fact, you don’t need to think of camp as somewhere where the kids will be entertained, but rather a place where they can hone their skills, keep their brains stimulated and stay fit and healthy over the break, all while having a good time!

Educational Camps: This spring is a good time to get your kids intellectual juices flowing. UCAM is offering a really interesting Spanish Cultural Kids Camp in JLT, where kids can either be introduced to the Spanish language and culture or build on their knowledge and practice their conversation, reading and writing. UCAM is actually the only Spanish language center in the GCC that is certified by Instituto Cervantes, so you know your kids are getting the best quality Spanish lessons.

If your kid is an aspiring techy, check out the Fun Robotics Camp in Jumeirah, where kids can learn and practice their STEM skills through coding, design, gaming and robotics. They will surely come out of this spring camp having not only learned a new skill, but also having built something that they can talk about!

There’s also an educational and fun Spring Camp at Expo City with activities ranging from photography, STEM (doing a kid-friendly irrigation project in the desert), storytelling and innovation through robotics.

Sports Camps: Whether you have energetic kids that need an outlet, sporty and athletic kids, or you just want your kids to exercise more, there are a whole range of spring sports camps in Dubai right now. Elite Sports Spring Camp in Arabian Ranches is a great option if you have kids of different ages, as it’s suited to kids from age 4 to 14. They’ve got football, handball , hockey and basketball, for an action-packed camp where kids can improve their sports skills.

AIS athletics in Al Barsha are offering kids the chance to train with British Olympic level athletes in track and field, hurdles, long jump, high jump, shot put and javelin. If you have kids that want to try everything from sports to cooking and arts and crafts, there’s a Multi-skills camp on at EmiratesPadPro in Al Quoz, offering everything from padel and tennis to science experiments and cold cooking.

For football fanatics, Elite Sports Football Camp offers the same successful methos as its sports camp but with a focus on football training, to improve players’ technical and tactical skills. The intensive training also includes competitive matches, and is open for kids aged 7 to 14.

Adventure Camp: For little adventurers who love being outdoors, Aventura Parks will get them climbing and scaling the walls, quite literally! Besides ziplining, climbing, and nature walks on their trail, the camp also engages kids (ages 5 to 12) through science, team building and arts.

For Little Monkeys: I bet you sometimes fantasize that you could drop your little ones off at their favorite play area and have them spend the day fully supervised, fed and happy, until it was time for pickup. Well now your dream is a reality with Funky Monkeys Spring Camp, where kids aged 3 to 11 can have a blast in their soft play area, doing arts and crafts, playing games, cooking, listening to storytelling, dancing and more. The camp is open from 9 am to 6 pm, including a kid approved lunch, perfect for working parents.

Moms and dads: we’re almost to the end of the school year! Sign your kids up for a fun camp and make this last stretch of the race easier on you and fun for your kids!
