Encourage Inclusion & Togetherness: #ClimbWithRio by Team AngelWolf
Indoor|What's On
This weekend, get your family together and join Team Angel Wolf as they #ClimbWithRio to encourage togetherness (inclusion) in activities while we #StayHome and #StayFit.
The mission is to create a more inclusive, healthier, and kinder global community!
This event has been approved by Dubai Community Authority and Dubai Sports Council.
What is #ClimbWithRio?
On 9th May, Nick, with his son, Rio, (17 years old, Person of Determination) strapped to his back, aim to climb equivalent height of Burj Khalifa tower (the world’s largest tower) on the stairs at their home.
That’s to a height of 829.8 metres / 2,722 feet from the ground to the tip of the building and back down again!
Expected Time for Completion: 3 hours.
Who can join?
The challenge is very adaptable, so it is open to people of all ages and abilities; this is an inclusive event!
You choose your own goal landmark height, do it at home using your stairs or a step, or you can do it on a flat surface if using a wheelchair.
It can be done in one go or in stages- anytime of your convenience, between the dates 8th May – 10th May 2020.
This challenge is open to our global community including schools, corporates, families, and individuals!
Anyone of any ability or any age (this is inclusive!), wherever they live in the world, can join Nick and Rio in the challenge, and they can share their inspiring videos on Instagram to encourage their friends and neighbours to take part.
How can I join?
Choose the Goal
Choose your own goal! It can be Burj Khalifa like Nick and Rio have chosen, or any other landmark or monument that is significant to you.
It might be the height of your home, a mountain, a mosque, your school, your office building or a famous landmark.
Choose a distance that suits your level or ability.
Use our calculations to help you work out the stair climb or floor distance you have to cover (you can find the worksheets in the Climb With #Team AngelWorld Manual Here).
Here are other global landmarks for you to choose from:
Burj Khalifa Dubai, United Arab Emirates 829.8 m (2,722 feet)
Petronas Twin Towers Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia 452 m (1,483 feet)

But I Don’t Have Access to Stairs
Not a problem. Do the same challenge by stepping up and down using a bench, chair or step at home.
What If Stair Climbs Are Not Physically Possible?
Cover the same distance by walking, or using a wheelchair, back and forth in a room in your home or on a balcony. Do this for the same distance as the height you want to cover.
Goal Timing
Nick and Rio plan to do this challenge on 9th May at 19:00 (Dubai time); you can either join them at the same time live, or complete it at a time of your convenience from Friday 8th May – Sunday 10th May.
You can even do it in stages over that time period if doing it in one go is not possible at the moment.
