Get ready for lots of happenings all over the country to mark the 49th UAE National Day on 2 December! With celebrations starting as early as this Friday, we’ve rounded up a selection to keep you busy and entertained. If you’re attending any of the events, please remember to stay staff and have fun!
Friday 27 November
UAE National Day Family Run, Friday 27 November, Nad AL Sheba
Wear the UAE colours and celebrate with fellow athletes this Friday. Whether you’re a social or advanced runner, young or old, there’s a 3km, 5km, 10km and 10 miles (16km) runs on offer. They’ll be music, aid stations and loads of supporters to cheer the runners on. A real community race and a great family event, everyone is encouraged to pin the UAE flag to their running gear and face paint it on to celebrate living and running in the UAE.

Tuesday 1 November
Infinite Ski National Day Camp, Tuesday 1 – Thursday 3 December, Al Quoz
With schools closed next week for the celebrations, kids aged 4 and over can join the Infinite Ski National Day Camp for a different way to enjoy the break. With options for beginners, intermediate and advanced skiers! Campers will enjoy skiing along with arts and crafts and team building activities.

Calling all Cheeky Monkey fans out there! Celebrate UAE National Day with a full day of soft play for only AED 49. Valid at all branches of Cheeky Monkeys on 1,2 and 3 December!

UAE National Day Run & Walk, Wednesday 2 December, Deira
Join the 3km or 5km run and walk next week, which is open to all family members of all ages. Plus, there will be loads of family-friendly activities and entertainment so bring the whole family (even though it’s an early start!). Registration is still open, check out QiDZ for more details.
Seeds of The Union Live Celebration, Wednesday 2 December, online
Celebrating 49 years of unity between the emirates and the country’s spirit and resilience, this spectacular live production will be broadcast to an audience of millions across the UAE and beyond. Staged in Abu Dhabi, the ‘Seeds of The Union’ will take the form of a moving sculpture that will portray the journey the UAE has taken over the past 49 years.

UAE’s 49th National Day Fireworks, Wednesday 2 December, Dubai Festival City
See a spectacular fireworks show at 9pm and 11pm on UAE National Day at Dubai Festival City Mall. Get a front row seat to the show by booking a dinner at selected Festival Bay restaurants and have the best view of the fireworks as they light up the sky.

Music Monkeys National Day Holiday Classes, Wednesday 2 December, Al Barsha
Join other ‘music monkeys’ at Kids HQ for a special class to celebrate UAE National Day. Ideal for little ones aged 3 and under, they will be introduced to a selection of instruments and styles of music and can choose to dance, stomp, jump or roll! At a special rate of AED 49 to celebrate the 49 years of the UAE, the price includes the class and 30 minutes of play in Kids HQ!

UAE National Day Cup, Friday 4 December, Academic City
In honor of UAE National Day, watch polo teams compete for the trophy at the grounds of Al Habtoor Polo Resort & Club. Join with your family and friends from 12noon. Enjoy a picnic, activities and simply being outside in the beautiful surroundings of the polo club. Keep an eye out for the match schedule, which will be announced soon.
