Chinese New Year At Waterfront Market

Head to the the Waterfront Market this weekend for fun entertainment and activities to celebrate the Chinese New Year from February 6 to 12.

Shoppers will get fortune cookies throughout the week, and visitors can pose at the Year of the Ox selfie wall for a chance to win various prizes.

There will be Chinese traditional dances including the lion, fan and umbrella dances, competitions with fantastic prizes and lots more.

Lasting impressions: Baya Exhibition

When looking for things to do in Dubai for free, don’t forget to venture out to Sharjah.

Lasting Impressions is back for its 11th edition, organized by Sharjah Museums Authority at Sharjah Art Museum.

This year will be a survey show for one of Algeria’s most prolific artists Baya Mahieddine, who has left a lasting impression on the development and evolution of modern art in the Arab world.

Visit the museum to enjoy this experience with over 70 works on display.

Palm West Beach

Head to the new Palm West Beach if you’re looking for free places to visit in Dubai.

Palm West Beach is set to be an iconic water sports, all-day entertainment and licensed beach destination.

The 1.6km of beachfront is lined with over 300 palm trees, an expansive boardwalk and path for beach goers and families.

It’s a great spot for a walk, bringing the kids with their scooters or to bond with your furry friend.

New bars and restaurants will also be located at Palm West Beach, a Balinese-themed beach bar, Koko Bay recently opened and the restaurants expected to open soon including Jones the Grocer, Aprons and Hammers, Lucky Fish, Senor Pico and Orange Chameleon.

The Block Park At d3 Waterfront

Located on the d3 Waterfront with Downtown Dubai skyline as its backdrop, The Block is a cool place to bring kids of all ages to play and burn off energy.

The wide paths make it a good place for the kids to scoot!

For older kids, head over to the skate park and give it a go.

There’s also a great shaded playground with rubber flooring (no sand!) and cool block-like structures the kids can climb and weave their way through.

Don’t miss the ping pong tables, a basketball court, a volley ball court, climbing walls an urban beach and plenty of outdoor seating – so much to do!

Parking is next door in the sand area and is free.
