Discovering Stella’s Song Workshop

Dubai-based Stephanie Robert is here to delight you with a creative workshop based on her latest book Stella’s Song. When Stella takes a nap, her dream leads her into the jungle and she discovers just what an amazing person she really is. Hear Stephanie read the tale of Stella and be guided through a mindfulness exercise to discover just where your own imagination can take you.
Jojo’s Arthouse will then take you on a journey through your creativity with an interactive Stella’s Song themed workshop where you will create your own ”Stella” canvas to take home.
Naqshun: Workshop with Maitha Al Khayat

Naqshun is in trouble, and looking for help to get out of his dilemma. What happened, and how will he find a solution? Join Maitha Al Khayat to get to know Naqshun, his family and his new friend, and enjoy live drawing. You will learn to draw your favourite character and add your own touch to it.
The Story of a Thread Workshop

Join Simar Halwany to discover where silent books were first created, how their popularity has spread, and how to read them. Simar will show you how to develop your book using multiple illustrative techniques to express your ideas and stories just through images. Focusing on the structure and artistry of silent books, along with the basic drawing elements required, you will learn fantastic new skills.
Silly Questions Can Save The Planet

Award-winning science author Isabel Thomas will take you on a whirlwind tour of the funniest questions asked by scientists. Showing how silly questions lead to serious science! You’ll discover how caterpillars are helping to tackle plastic pollution, what levitating frogs and the world’s most amazing material have in common, and of course, whether cats are liquid or solid!
Audience members are invited to submit their most curious questions in advance, for a chance to see them answered during the event. Remember, the sillier the better!
Storytelling: Can I Go Out Now?

Here’s something we can all relate to… Little Earth really, really wants to go outside and play with his friends, but he can’t do that until he is feeling better! He is very sad until he finds a colorful way to stay in touch with everyone.
Discover this timely story at the Emirates Literature Festival which will let you look at current health and environmental questions with your children and be entertained by its delightful author Ebtisam Al-Beiti. Ebtisam is an educator and early years professional whose work inspired her to write her first children’s story.
Ben Bailey Smith & Sav Akyuz: Bear Moves

If there’s one thing Bear knows, it’s how to move. And when the music starts up, Bear just can’t help grooving to the beat, spinning round, belly dancing and even doing the foxtrot! Join duo, actor and author Ben Bailey Smith and artist Sav Akyuz, in an event full of rhymes, drawing and funny wiggling featuring I Am Bear and its hilarious sequel Bear Moves.

Voices of Future Generations Book Launch

A year in the making, the winning stories of the first Voices of Future Generations for the Middle East Region will soon be available for all to read in Young Voices of Arabia! A beautifully produced collection illustrated by UAE-based artists. All twenty winning stories; ten originally written in Arabic, ten in English have been translated and the collection is available in both languages.
You’re invited to join in person or online for this very special book launch at the Emirates Literature Festival.

The Pearl Diver’s Son by Julia Johnson

Join one of Dubai’s best-loved children’s authors at Emirates Literature Festival as she introduces her new book The Pearl Diver’s Son. Julia Johnson will take you on a journey into the past through the adventures of Rashid, whose father sailed away to dive for pearls in the Arabian Sea.
Julia has written many books for children and has a special focus on the history and traditions of this region.
