Being outdoor in the UAE is simply the best place to be right now! We’ve pulled together a mix of some old favorites and new ideas; for weekdays and weekends.
Dubai Fitness Challenge
Running until the 28 November, there’s are still loads of free activities around Dubai for kids to get involved in. There’s a ‘Kids Skill & Play Area’ for kids aged 8 to 16 at Quranic Park; Kite Beach has a Fitness Village with lots of free activities for all ages and abilities such as HIIT workouts, beach football, women-only workouts and dance classes; plus, at Dubai Festival City Mall there’s a Fitness Village and The Arch, a new park that features a climbing wall, 200m zip line and plunging jump bag.

Aventura Parks, Dubai
Get active in the Ghaf forest with over 80 challenges between the ground and the trees. Kids and adults can leap across the challenging 25m Tarzan jump or speed through the trees on the longest tree top zip lines in the region. There’s more to learn about flora and fauna with a guided nature trail through the forest near Mirdif.

Dubai Garden Glow & Dinosaur Park
Enjoy the talking tree, stage shows, sparkling garden, glowing animals and more once the sun has set. It’s a fantastic place to enjoy the outdoors with the whole family!

XPark Jr: Mommy & Me Playdate, Dubai
Back by popular demand, XPark Jr and Park House Café have teamed up again to bring back their Sunday to Wednesday playdate. For AED 40 you get entry for 1 child and 2 adults, access to all the beautiful spaces including a mini petting farm, water play, natural climbing structures and an arts & crafts pack to take home. Sharjah Wildlife Sanctuary
A hidden gem (and a budget option too!) with lots of different outdoor areas to explore. The children’s farm has sheep, goats and cows along with horses, donkey and camels. The Arabian Wildlife Sanctuary is home to many animals who live in the desert including reptiles, snakes and scorpions. There’s also a mini zoo with foxes, baboons, leopards, flamingos and gazelles. Perfect for mini animal lovers and under 12s are free and for everyone else, entry is just AED 15.

Mangrove Kayak Nature Tours, Ajman
In less than one hour’s drive from Dubai, you can enjoy a 2-hour guided tour through the stunning Al Zorah Nature Reserve, home to the fish nursery of the sea, the creak and mangrove. They are designated conservation areas with over 58 species of rare and migratory birds. Prices start from AED 122 and it’s open to anyone aged 4 and above. No experience is necessary but you must book in advance.

The Ripe Market at The Academy Park, Dubai
Back for a new season, the popular market is running every Friday from 9am to 7pm and Saturday 10am to 7pm. With live music, food outlets, a petting zoo and new for this season – horse riding – plus the covered playground with climbing frames and swings; it’s great to have it back and with more on offer. Entry to the market is free for under 12s and AED 5 for adults.

Ferry Ride – Sightseeing Trip, Dubai
Take the kids on a historical boat ride from Al Ghubaiba in Bur Dubai to Jumeirah Beach. The Circular Tourist Trip takes around one hour each way and the Marina terminal is short walk from Marina Mall. Kids under 5 are free and the ferries run 7 days a week. A great way for residents to see parts of Dubai they may have missed, and tourists to see a snapshot of the whole city!
